Journal Description
Journal of the Academy of Neurosurgery in Africa (JANA), is an open source, peer reviewed medical journal that covers all aspects of neurosurgery and microsurgery: neurovascular, microsurgery, neurooncology, neurotraumatology, degenerative spine, nervous system infections, paediatric neurosurgery, functional neurosurgery, peripheral nerve diseases and global health neurosurgery with public health and societal issues. It is an online publication with open access. Our vision is to be the leader medical journal in the field of neurosurgery in our sub Saharan region. All the original articles, systematic reviews, meta -analysis, review articles, technical notes, case reports are published in English with a French summary. Journal of the African Neurosurgery Academy (JANA) is the official publication of the African academies of Neurosurgery and microsurgery Societies. The journal proposes also to serve as area where pedagogic leads of neurosurgery training will publish review articles specific to our African context. Acceptance of manuscripts is based on the originality, the quality of the work and validity of the evidence, the clarity of presentation, and the relevance to our readership.
